Deactivation & Memorialisation Of Social Media
Unlike other social media platforms, Twitter does not offer the memorialization of a deceased person's account. However, they do allow the deactivation of the account.

Twitter also allows the deactivation of a deceased user's account. They can work with an authorized person acting on behalf of the estate or a verified immediate family member of the dead to get an account deleted in case of the user’s.

Users with no verifiable link to the deceased can only deactivate the account. As of 2021, they still do not have a memorialization feature.

Make sure to have the following details when filling up the form:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Connection to the account owner
  • Username you’re attempting to deactivate
  • Full name of the owner
  • Any additional information you think will be helpful
