Cancellation of Subscription Services
Follow these instructions to cancel the subscription of a deceased's account.

Netflix is the world's most popular streaming entertainment provider, with 208 million paying subscribers in more than 190 countries. They allow you to watch TV shows, documentaries, and feature films in a wide range of genres and languages.

Members may watch as much as they want on any internet-connected screen, at any time and from anywhere. Members may watch without advertisements and can play, pause, and restart viewing at any time.

If you’re a person who is tasked to cancel a Netflix subscription for their deceased loved one, you may opt to follow these steps:

  1. Log into the deceased person’s account.

The simplest way to cancel a Netflix account belonging to a deceased person is to cancel it as if it were your own. However, you will need access to the person's Netflix account to do so.

You are ready to go if you can find your loved one's Netflix password and the email address they used to create the account. Look for password information on desks and in computer files. If not, try to search for their account manager or other applications where they might have kept their account details.

  1. Reset the deceased person’s account information

It's unusual to discover someone's Netflix password right quickly. However, there are approaches you can try to get into your loved one's account and cancel it without contacting customer care.

If you know the account owner’s email address and have access to said email address, prompt a reset password by clicking the Forgot Password button. Change the account’s password and log in to the account. Cancel the subscription through the account settings. This can also be done using your loved one's phone number if they have linked it to their account.

If the methods mentioned above are not possible, you might be able to access the account by entering the credit or debit card number linked to it by clicking the "I don't remember my email or phone" on the Forgot Password page. This will send you to a screen that asks for the account owner’s first and last name, as well as the account's credit or debit card number.

  1. Contact the Customer Service.

You can also call Netflix Customer Service instead of going via the forgotten password workaround if you don't want to or if you're experiencing issues with it.

You may reach them through their contact us page. You can talk to an agent through live chat or call them via the Netflix app. To cancel the account, you'll need one or more of the following pieces of information:

  • The account's linked email address
  • Contact information for the account's phone number
  • Payment method (number of credit or debit card) linked to the account
